ROSE COTTAGE - Sleeps 4

Rose Cottage - outsideRose Cottage is in the beautiful medieval village of Saignon.It opens onto it's own, quite private, village square complete with springwater-fed well. It offers fabulous accommodation for 4 in total comfort with 2 large bedrooms and very spacious living area.
The 2 divans in the living room convert into sofa beds so extra people could easily be accommodated. Please note that additional charges will apply for more than 4 persons so kindly advise at time of booking.

Kitchen - Dining Room You enter Rose Cottage directly into the kitchen/dining room. This is a large room with lovely big windows and the new kitchen is complete with a 4-hob gas burner and an electric oven and extractor fan. The kitchen is fully equipped with every thought given to your comfort and needs. You also have a Bosch dishwasher, which will help you spend more time exploring the beautiful Provence country-side.

Beside the kitchen, there is the laundry/storage room. Whirlpool front loader washing machine and tumble dryer have been installed for your use without supplementary charge. Hot water is never a problem as you have a large system for the kitchen and the other is upstairs for the showers.

Living RoomIn the living room, you have 2 comfortable chairs and sofas (which can be made into a double bed) and a large open fireplace. Satellite TV, CD/radio hi-fi system and one of the 3 telephones are next to the fire. Through the transparent rose curtains, the sunlight streams through making this a truly wonderful place to just relax and read. The double French doors can be opened up to allow the scent of the rose bushes outside to float in.

Behind the kitchen, you will find a circular stone staircase, which leads up to the first floor. Overlooking the sunny square, is Bedroom 1, which has 2 Super Single beds (120cms) and off this large and sunny bedroom is the bathroom (WC, hand basin and shower).

Main BedroomBedroom 2 has a private dressing room and a King Size bed (160 cms). Off this bedroom, is an identical bathroom to the other, with shower and WC. A table and chair with access to a telephone jack is set by the window if there is the necessity to work on a laptop or better still write postcards. There is a telephone in each room.

A large hot water system services both bathrooms, which ensures that you never run out of hot water. Each bathroom has heated towel railings for warm towels and a good quality hairdryer.

Rose Cottage has identical linen to the Place de la Fontaine. 100% cotton sheets and blankets for summer and warm doonas and heavy quality blankets for winter.

PLEASE NOTE: Rose Cottage has a circular staircase. Cot and highchair are available on request and should be noted at time of booking at no additional charge.

PLACE DE LA FONTAINE - Sleeps 6

Place de la Fontaine - outsidePlace de la Fontaine is directly opposite the main fountain in the village of Saignon.

Entering the front door, you pass through the extremely comfortable living area, which has chairs and large squishy sofas (which can be converted to a double bed).

The living room and fireplace The living room

An open fireplace and central heating make winters comfortable and cozy. There is a hi-fi/radio system and a satellite TV with a range of videos and CDs to suit most tastes. There are 2 telephones but no DVD player.

The dine in kitchen

The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher and 4-hob gas cook top and electric oven. There is an abundance of white plates and bowls, glasses and mugs. Pots and pans of all shapes and sizes are available for you to try out your latest culinary effort. There is no microwave. Off the kitchen, there is a laundry with a front-load washer and dryer. Here are the 2 large hot water systems.

BedroomsBedrooms On the first floor, there are 2 bedrooms, one with twin Super-Single Beds (120cms) and the other with a double bed (140cms). There is lots of hanging space and drawers. Next to these bedrooms, is the bathroom with WC and enamel bath with old-fashioned telephone shower.

Bedrooms

On the top floor, there is a double bedroom (140cms) leading onto the terrace and bathroom (shower and WC). A good quality hairdryer is supplied. The terrace is able to hold pot plants and a round table with 6 chairs without problems.

All 100% cotton sheets, extra large towels, fluffy bathrobes, tablecloths and cloth serviettes are provided. In winter, there are winter-weight doonas and blankets. In summer, there are cool 100% cotton sheets, cotton blankets and lightweight summer doonas to cater for all temperatures. There are 3 public parking areas in the village within a minute's walk. A boulangerie and a small general store are barely 100 metres from the front door.

PLEASE NOTE: Highchair and portable cot are available at no additional charge and should be requested at time of booking. There are stairs.

VILLA AGAPANTHE - Sleeps 6

Pool Villa Agapanthe is a gorgeous setting. A lovely freestanding, modern house set in a large (2,000 sqm) Provencal garden complete with a glorious inground pool setting, perfect for a refreshing dip or simply lounging around the paved surrounds, fringed with flowing lavendar. This very private setting is well back from a quiet village road and surrounded by a cherry orchard, municipal gardens, and olive trees; but still only a mere 400m to the village center and post office. Views up to St Saturnin include its famous windmill and castle ruins, whilst to the west you see the red hills of Roussillon and the setting sun across the valley.

Villa Agapanthe is all on one level, with just a few steps up to the front and rear doors. There are three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms (one separate WC), kitchen, large open-plan dining and sitting room, glorious sunroom, entrance hall and large garage. Throughout the whole house is central heating, which gives tremendous warmth in the winter and an endless supply of hot water year round. There is a CD stereo system, VCR/DVD and television in the living room, providing access to both French programming and CNN.

The kitchen is decorated in Provencal yellow and blue, with wooden cabinets,cream walls, and a grape motif frieze. There is a large fridge with freezer, oven, 4-ring gas hob and dishwasher. The kitchen is fully equipped with all cooking utensils, crockery, and cutlery needed to whip up a truly Provencal feast.

bedroom The main bedroom is 4m x 4m. It has two super-single sized beds (120cm), chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps. There is air-conditioning, cream carpet, double curtains (white and blue), and pale cream walls with a wisteria frieze.

The second bedroom is 4m x 3m. It has a king-sized bed (160cm), built in cupboards, a chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps. There is cream carpet, double curtains (white and lavender), and pale cream walls with a lavender frieze.

The third bedroom is also 4m x 3m. It has a queen-sized bed (140cm), built in cupboards, a chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps. There is cream carpet, double curtains (white and green), and pale green walls. All three bedrooms have an uninterrupted view of the gardens, and are airy and light. There are external wooden shutters and insect screens.

The first bathroom has art-deco, sparkling pink tiles with a full-sized bath, hand-held shower and hand basin opposite. The washing machine and dryer are conveniently installed in the corner cupboard. There is a large vanity unit and a ceiling-to-floor heated towel rack. A double window opens onto the pretty hillside views.

The second bathroom has beige-toned tiles with shower, hand basin and WC. There is a small Provencal vanity and small window. The second WC is set between the second and third bedrooms, and has its own small hand basin and window.

The entrance hall and corridor have pale cream walls with a green vine motif frieze. There is a large built in wardrobe with a lot of storage space. There is a small antique desk with telephone and chair. Through the double doors you enter into the sitting / dining room, which is striking in its open plan and airiness. Light cream and pale green tones are offset by stone walls and pink accessories.

Lounge Dining On the dining room side, there is a large table that accommodates from six to ten people, and double windows that open out to the garden complete with olive trees. In the sitting room area, there are two very large and comfortable cream sofas, facing a large rustic stone fireplace, and light spills in through double French glass doors from the sunroom next door.

dining The sunroom is again light and airy, with vibrant pink, white and green checked and floral fabrics. It has a round metal table with 6-chair setting, and an antique lit cage (wrought iron bed). The sliding glass windows give the illusion of dining amongst the treetops, with uninterrupted views to the south and the west. From this room, you reach the outdoor eating area at the foot of the stairs. There is a large white table with chairs, drink trolley, and a large navy-blue Italian (market) umbrella. There are sun lounges with coordinated blue and lavender cushions.

The garden has a fully programmed (and fuss free) watering system and consists of a large lawn, manicured flowerbeds, Provencal herbs and lavender, and an abundance of olive, cherry and fig trees... and of course, feature beautiful white and blue Agapanthas everywhere.
